Some people who know me personally have asked why my blog is titled "Miss Jackie's Views" if I am married? The answer is at a previous job one of my co-workers always referred to me as "Miss Jackie" in the southern style. Pretty soon the name stuck and everyone in the office would say "Hey Miss Jackie" or "Where is Miss Jackie?". I have also been asked many times if I was named after Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the answer is no. My grandmother loved all things French so my mother gave me a French name, Jacqueline Yvonne, to make her feel special.
Below is my interview for the Vocalpoint Voice of the month for February 2012 that I just received. I am honored and humbled, I haven't received an award since I was in the 5th grade! I am posting the interview because it is pretty much who I am and my views and sums things up nicely.
Congratulations to jgriebel, our February Voice of the Month!
Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I am married to my best friend John and have two wonderful sons, John and Josh, who are my whole world. My thoughts and ideas are influenced by my sense of family. My favorite quote is by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis "If you bungle raising your children nothing else you do well in life really matters" and I believe this to be true.
I love organizing events and parties and have coordinated several fundraisers for people in need, especially those with illnesses. I believe everyone has a gift, in my case it is organizing things and encouraging others, and if you discover your gift can use it to help others! I have many interests including scrapbooking, genealogy, history, reading, crocheting, tatting, baking, fashion, fishing and bowling!!
Favorite movie of all time...
My favorite movie of all time is "It's A Wonderful Life"! I am a huge fan of Jimmy Stewart and Clark Gable (Gone With the Wind is my 2nd favorite movie of all time.)
My idea of happiness…
My idea of happiness is to just wake up in the morning! If you are lucky enough to have another day on this earth anything going on around you or any problems really don't matter, you can work through them. To watch my boys growing up and be fortunate enough to have my own home and my needs met is just the greatest thing.
