The following is an excerpt from the review. To read the full review, please go here. If you don't recall, I reviewed Guylian Belgian Chocolates around Christmas for my Holiday Gift Guide. I couldn't resist saying yes when they asked me to review some of their Valentine's Day chocolates. I'm not used to quality chocolate. I typically just settle for a Hershey bar. Not that Hershey isn't quality, but Guylian's rich, delicious hazelnut filled chocolate beats it by a mile.
Although Guylian was established by a young married couple in the 1950s, today the Guylian name is well-known in nearly 100 countries around the world. Their customers enjoy a wide variety of creamy truffles and chocolate bars. They have chocolate for the sugar conscious to the dark chocolate obsessed. Each truffle is entirely made of cocoa butter and West African cocoa which gives the chocolate its richness and creaminess. The original recipe for this chocolate has remained unchanged over the years and none of their chocolate contains vegetable fat or other fatty oils {great for me right now}.
Each chocolate is unique to the others in the package. You will find a "marble" look to each piece which is the combination of white, milk and dark chocolates. They are each shaped like a seahorse or seashell, adding to the unique factor. The best part about Guylian chocolate is how it melts in your mouth. Literally just pop a chocolate in and feel it melt into your tongue. It has been a huge hit with my co-workers and family. My husband keeps sneaking the smaller boxes and chocolate bars in his work bag.
Guylian puts together great gift packages for the holidays, Valentine's Day included. It's a great idea to order for a loved one because even though chocolate seems to be the #1 Valentine's Day gift, this differently comprised and shaped chocolate will add a little surprise element to the gift. If you prefer the traditional version, they have a cute box of heart shaped truffles.
Shop Guylian and you will receive 20% off your purchase through February 28th with promo code VALDAY20. You can also subscribe to their newsletter for more great deals.
