Curvy girls get Creative with new Swimwear Design App
D plus swimwear and lingerie experts, Curvy Kate are giving their customers the creative edge with the chance to design their own swimwear range through an interactive app on the brand’s Facebook page,www.facebook.com/curvykate. The brand are handing the reigns over to their 35,000 strong fan base to see exactly what they want to be wearing on the beach next summer, with little choice in the past for the fuller bust.
The brand are encouraging ‘fans’ to choose their favourite bikini top and bikini brief combination to which they can add a multitude of patterns, the season’s hottest colours and accessories. With over 60,000 possibilities available, the D plus bust woman will be able to upload her final design and compete against friends or the Curvy Kate community in designing her beach outfit.
Fans will have 6 weeks to design and perfect the piece they would like to wear on the beach, with Curvy Kate then shortlisting their favourites ready for a final public vote. The ultimate winner will take away the full Spring Summer 2013 swimwear collection with their own designs displayed on the brand’s social pages.
Hannah Houston, Marketing Manager comments. ‘Our fans are curvy girls who know exactly what they want. For long enough they’ve felt second best on the beach and we launched our first swimwear collection in 2012 to celebrate curvy bodies and beach confidence. We’re continually listening to their product needs and thought this was the perfect way to hear exactly what type of bikinis they want to wear, so that we’ll have even more pieces to suit their unique shapes in the future.’
‘First and foremost the application puts our fans in the driving seat and was designed as a fun competition to get people talking and thinking about what they would want if they could have any piece of swimwear.’
Curvy Kate launched their first swimwear range in 2012 which has grown into a 13 piece mix and match collection for Spring Summer 2013. The design competition will run worldwide across each of their Facebook pages in the UK, America and Australia. Entries for the Facebook app are open until mid-October.
