Helpful tips for researching your family tree

One of my many interests is genealogy, I have traced my family and my husband's family back to their arrival in America. Below are some great sites that I have used over the years in my research. All of the sites I have listed are free with no fee to use them.  If you find a piece of your family history or something interesting leave me a comment! I love history and would like to hear if this article was helpful to my readers.

Immigrant Ship Transcribers Guild - this amazing site has the transcription of passenger lists that arrived in America for thousands of ships! The listings start in the 1600's and go through the 1950's. http://www.immigrantships.net/

Find A Grave - an online database of over 79 million graves. It has a section with famous people too. Each record includes an obituary for the deceased, if available, and a picture of their monument/marker.
