Baby & Children's Swimwear from Platypus Australia
Platypus Australia based in Australia produces UV protective swimwear for babies and children. All Platypus swimwear offers maximum sun protection blocking out 97.5% of harmful ultraviolet radiation. The company's mission is to educate parents, children and industry representatives about the importance of protection against the damaging rays of the sun. For information about UV Protection and Sun Protection Facts read the Platypus Australia article HERE.
Platypus Australia offers short sleeve and long sleeve sunshirts, board shorts, swim skirts, boyleg pants, bike shorts, skirts, girls one piece and kini suits, boys sunsuits, sun jackets and hats in sizes ranging from 6 months to 14. The patterns and colors of Platypus swimwear are vibrant and tasteful. To see some of the great suits Platypus produces check out my board on Pinterest HERE.
I selected the boys sunshirt and board shorts in the splash pattern along with the boys sun hat which Josh is wearing in the picture above. After I took the items out of the packaging the first thing I noticed was the hem on the shorts, it is triple stitched which means it is not likely to fray or tear. After I looked at each item closely I started to notice all the nice details on the shirt and shorts, little cloth tags on the right side which you see with high quality clothing, the drawstring inside the board shorts has the Platypus logo stamped on each string and check out the cute skull and crossbones logo on the back of the sun shirt in the picture below!
The biggest surprise with Platypus swimwear came when it was time to put our sunscreen on. After we get dressed for the pool I always use spray on sunscreen before we head out the door. This morning when I went to spray Josh I only had to spray half of his arms and legs. I went to spray the front and back of his neck as usual and realized I did not need too. Platypus sun shirts are designed with a mock neck type collar (look at the neckline in the picture above to see what I mean) and cover a child up to their chin. Josh has other sun shirts but they do not provide this type of coverage. When we went to the pool I made it a point to look at the sun shirts other boys we were wearing, I saw four other boys with sun shirts and not one of them had the coverage of the Platypus sun shirt. What does this mean? It means Josh is getting full sun protection without having to have sticky sunscreen that wears off. And the shirt is very comfortable, it was a very hot 92 degrees here in PA today and he did not complain once, the shirt is very light and breathable.
As parents we all want the best of everything for our children and Platypus Australia provides the best sun protection available with their great swim wear. Every piece of Platypus Australia swim wear provides the maximum UPF of 50. As my mother pointed out you can put sunscreen on your kids but you are likely to miss a few spots, with Platypus Australia swim wear you know that your child is covered.
