ANNE TAINTOR "VINTAGE REVISITED"
Video Credit: Jacqueline Y. Griebel
Last week I happened upon the Facebook page for some of the most clever little items I have seen in awhile, Anne Taintor products! Who is Anne Taintor? She is a Harvard educated artist who picked up a stack of old magazines at a yard sale back in 1985. As she thumbed through the magazines she wondered what the housewives pictured in the 1940's and '50s ads were really thinking. Soon she started applying her own whimsical sayings to various products and they started selling. Her floaty pens are famous, I remember seeing them years ago. You can read Anne's story and see all the items available from Anne Taintor HERE. Floaty pens, barware, tissues, emery boards, magnets, books are some of the items that Anne has applied her witty sayings too. When I first browsed the online store the collection of flasks caught my eye. I remember reading that in the 1950's some mothers liked their cocktails, referring to them as "Mother's Little Helper" and I immediately made the connection.
For fun you can browse all the captions Anne has created HERE. My personal favorite is "Make your own damn dinner!" I don't know how many times I have had that same thought and I bet some of my readers have too. I would love to know Anne's take on Martha Stewart (in my mind the modern version of the perfect homemaker), I am sure it would be hilarious!
In May Anne Taintor is debuting a new line with models from the 1960's, I can't wait to see it! My mother always taught me to put thought into a gift and try to be original. Anne Taintor is original and I can almost guarantee they will make your mom laugh, head on over to the Anne Taintor website and order a few gifts for Mother's Day!
Anne Taintor has generously offered to give one of my readers a gift set consisting of a nail file, mini tissues, lip balm and tote. The gift set I received is pictured below.
I apologize that the picture is not the greatest quality. I created a board on Pinterest with better detail of the items featured in the giveaway, you can go HERE to see the giveaway items.
Disclosure: I received products from Anne Taintor for review purposes. However I only recommend products to my readers that I would personally use.
